It's legal now (in most states) so let's start growing cannabis. Where do you begin? I'm going to just talk about California since I live here and I want to keep focused on growing and not so much laws. In California we can have up to 6 plants. Depending on your local government, you can grow them outside. Some cities and counties will add layers of prohibition so check here to see what your local laws are.
Let's talk about the difference between seeds and clones. Growing clones has a big advantage because you know exactly what you are getting if you are fortunate enough to see the mother plant and even better try some of the bud from one of her past clones. At the very least you know that it's a female. When you grow from seed you won't know if it's a male or female. That means you could spend a lot of time raising a plant that you will ultimately want to kill unless you want to get into breeding. Seeds on the other hand come without any hidden diseases and are inherently stronger and more robust. Most seed producers are in a rush to get sales going so they don't put in the time to produce a truly stable genetic. You may get freaks and hermaphrodites. You can buy high end seeds from reputable dealers but they can cost up to $300 for 10 seeds and there is no guarantee that any of them will be female. I would suggest checking out Leafly's listings for clones and seeds.
